City park Griftpark

Utrecht’s Griftpark is a modern city park situated just outside the city centre. The park is popular with local residents and students because of its huge green lawns – perfect for relaxing and sunbathing – the skate park, the football cage and the petting zoo.

Nature in the city
Griftpark has a lot to offer. The park’s green heart and its 220-metre living wall are a surprising burst of nature right in the middle of the city. The fields by the pond are ideal for a picnic on a sunny day, and from the hill you can enjoy stunning views of the park and the city. There is a skate park for youngsters, along with a basketball court that is also very popular. And of course, the park is also a great place to go for a walk, exercise and enjoy the weather.

Events
There is always something to do in Griftpark – from sporting events to concerts and attractions; from the ‘Solidair Griftpark’ event day to small-scale children’s activities at the Griftsteede children’s farm.

Opening times
Griftpark is open 24 hours a day. The children’s farm and the playground, which is where you will also find the toilet facilities (this building complex is called Griftsteede) do have opening times. Opening times: Tuesday – Friday from 10 am until 5 pm; Saturday and Sunday from 11 am until 5 pm. The stables close at 5 pm.
