Geesberge country estate

In 1649, Joan Huydecoper van Maarsseveen, one of the heirs of Sebastiaan van Geesbergen, purchased the ‘Op Geesbergen’ farm, idyllically located by the Vecht. The new owner, who lived on the nearby Goudestein Country Estate, was descended from the old patrician family of Huydecoper and was Lord Mayor of Amsterdam thirteen times between 1673-1693. The family's rich history can be seen in the interior, for example in the corridor of marble tiles and the eighteenth-century pine interior doors with central panels of oak. Today, you can enjoy a lunch, a drink or an evening meal here. Alternatively, board the excursion boat and explore the location from the water.
