The miller’s craft has also been recognised as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2017. It’s a classic Dutch tradition with deep historical roots. The Rope Museum is situated in the historic centre of Oudewater, in the original ropewalk. See, hear, feel and smell the story of the ‘Yellow Bellies’, as the town residents used to be called.
Museum de Heksenwaag
During a day out in the green heart region a visit to the picturesque city of Oudewater and its heksenwaag museum can’t be missed. The museum is open again and is happy to welcome visitors to step on the scales to stand trial for witchcraft.
The Windotter windmill
