Hikingroute Laarsenberg
This trail includes the Laarsenberg hill near Rhenen. It makes for an ideal combination with a visit to the city of Rhenen itself. The walk is a mix of deciduous and coniferous woodlands, scenic fields of wheat, burial mounds and monumental farmhouses. Its highest point, the Laarsenberg, offers panoramic views of the Gelderse Vallei. Although less steep than nearby hills like the Grebbeberg, its lynchets (narrow earth terraces found on the side of a hill) are unique for the area and not found anywhere else outside southern Limburg. The trail continues past the bear enclosure of Ouwehands Zoo.
